Shooting The Casby Awards

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Hey gang!

Was so lucky to be brought on to shoot this year’s Casby Awards (Canadian Artists Selected By You) at the Koolhaus in downtown Toronto. Streamed via the web and 102.1 The Edge simultaneously - this year’s roster of Canuck talent did not disappoint. Amazing!!

Among those on the bill: Bedouin Soundclash, Sloan, Die Mannequin, Ubiquituous Synergy Seeker, Tokyo Police Club - and of course, my favourite - City and Colour.

Made just a wee little video prior to the madness that is a three camera live streaming web event.. with a tasty DaIlas Green tidbit at the end. Just for you!

Enjoy. Now off to bed with me.

Your Sunday Morning Soundtrack

Have loved Seu Jorge for a long while, so last night I finally bit the bullet and bought “The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions”. It’s amazing, and a lovely bliss out album for a Sunday morning. Still haven’t figured out how to link to stuff in iTunes - so you’ll have to head over on your own to check it out. Worth the 5 minutes, I promise!

G Love at the Sound Academy

Caught amazing alt hip-hop trio G Love and the Special Sauce last night at the Sound Academy. Had an amazing time! The man and the music are every ounce as delicious in person, and the views of Toronto from Polson Pier are completely sumptuous. The nasty hot dog post-show however? Think I’ll skip that the next time. :)

Head over and check out my Flickr slideshow mini-story here. If you click the ‘i’ over the photos you’ll see my little narration. Wish you could’ve been there!

In John’s Atmosphere

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Man, I can’t believe how amazing John Mayer’s new live CD/DVD is. I’ve been a fan since the beginning - gave “Room For Squares” so many spins I’m sure it almost melted in my player.

But his new compilation “Where The Light Is” is absolutely blowing my mind. The cinematography is stunning, and the music is achingly beautiful.

After checking a few clips of the film out on YouTube, I’m itching to grab the DVD, a new HD set, and a bottle of wine. Just dim the lights and curl up. :)

My Early Birthday Present from John Mayer

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Anyone that knows me well will tell you that I am an unabashed John Mayer fan. So imagine my surprise when I received this video in my inbox a few days ago, along with the following message:

“Roz, here’s an early birthday present for you - thought you’d enjoy it. Yours, John”

OK - so I sent it to myself. Does it really matter?! Ha! :)

Happy birthday to me, and to all of my loyal rozbloggers - enjoy. Here’s Mr. Mayer covering one of my all-time favourite songs.

Black Tambourine… ummm - YEAH!

Hey gang!

Was out getting my act on the track this morning. Started thinking about how the music I choose to listen to while killing myself with cardio can either make or break the entire exercise session. Do you find the same thing?

So with this in mind I’m going to post my current 30 minute running soundtrack. Hope it serves as a playlist for you, or just inspiration to get out and enjoy the sunshine!
